Engagement Invitations Request a visit of the Lord-Lieutenant

HM Lord-Lieutenant, the Vice Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenants attend a wide range of events and ceremonies each year within Derbyshire, including numerous Award ceremonies and many local community-based events.

Invitations may be submitted to the Lieutenancy Office either by letter (where possible, please include an email address) or by email. Please endeavour to give as much notice as possible but a minimum of four weeks is requested.

Each request will receive due consideration but please bear in mind that it is not possible to agree to them all.   When submitting a request please include the following information:-

  • date and time of the proposed event;
  • location;
  • brief details of the event;
  • brief details of any specific duties that you would like the Lord-Lieutenant to undertake, e.g. wreath laying.

You will receive an acknowledgement as soon as possible and if the invitation is accepted then you will be asked to complete an Engagement Form requesting detailed information, and will receive a guidance note relating to Protocol.

Please note that if HM Lord-Lieutenant is unable to attend then, where appropriate, invitations are cascaded to the Vice Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenants.
